“Portland based prog rock pop-punk since 2011”
Jet Force Gemini
Since their inception in 2011, Portland Pop-punk quartet Jet Force Gemini have been taking cues from the rock, pop, punk, and prog-metal bands that paved the way before them to create a hybrid that fuses all four major genres together.
The band was formed when vocalist Michael Christopher and guitarist Roman Bilko combined their different musical upbringing to create the foundation for the band's signature progressive power pop-punk sound.
Citing influences like Thrice, Blink-182, Saosin, and Rise Against, the band would add drummer Nathan Hocker and bassist Nic Zern to create a melting pot of punk energy, metal riffing, sweeping melodies, and raucus percussion to create a genre that was rooted in Pop and Punk foundations, but was uniquely their own.
The band would release their debut album Pistola Melodica in 2014, a crowd-funded endeavor that provided a foundation for the band's signature sound. In the fall of 2017, the band would then release their sophomore follow-up Dive Eternity; their second, and much larger, self-produced album with produce and engineer Matt Jefferson of Black Diamond Studios (Fear Factory, Revolution Saints, E-40).
